So, THIS is the uni project that's been eating up all my drawing time for the last month or so. *dies*
The brief was to create some kind of narrative or sequence using the prompt 'Time Passes.'

It's meant to be the field journal of an alien naturalist/paleontologist who has come to study the Fantastic Beasts of a strange planet... which is of course present day Earth. He's a maverick: impulsive, overenthusiastic and prone to jumping to entirely the wrong conclusions. He doesn't understand technology or machines at all- all his equipment is alive (for example that ammonite/shell thing is a young space ship). So, like early paleontoloists did with the first dinosaur fossils ever found, he draws parallels between what he already knows and what he sees around him on earth.
When he finds keys and rusty machine parts, he thinks of them as fossil teeth and bones and 'reconstructs' entire creatures from them. When he sees cars driving along a motorway, he assumes they are migrating herds.

And when the inquisitive idiot tries to get on a bus like those funny little mammals over there are doing, all hell breaks loose. XD

....Yeah. Anyway. The book is handmade (that bookbinding course came in handy, hehe) and about 70-80 pages long. Each page had to be cut to size individually. Some are drawn/handwritten then scanned and printed, some typed. The pages have been aged with coffee, ink and boot polish.
The text comes to around 5000 words altogether.

....So, in other words it was a flipping pain in the bum to make and took forever, and had better get a good grade or I'll throw it at the tutors >.<'

How clever! :)

Its the sort of project my tutors would've probably wet themselves over, so here's hoping the same is true of yours - best of luck and congrats on a beautiful piece of work :)

James 5:19-20 Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him;
Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.
That's amazing. Can you suggest any online resources for somebody interested in having a go at bookbinding? (I'd like to take the evening class at the local art college, but that'll have to wait for now!)
Perhaps it's because I was playing the game last night, but this reminds me of the game Myst and its journals--you have to read them to get anywhere in the game, and they're filled with text and drawings like this.

It looks absolutely beautiful. I'd love to read it.
